Dad’s Perspective ~

Dear Student/Parent,

I am writing to wholeheartedly recommend the services of Viv Lynn, an exceptional tutor and mentor whose expertise and dedication have had a profound impact on my son’s academic journey. Through her website, txsoe.com, Viv offers a wealth of resources and personalized support that stands out in the field of educational guidance.

Viv’s role in preparing my son for the SAT was nothing short of transformative. With her guidance, his score soared to 110 points in 8 days to 1460, a testament to her effective teaching methods and deep understanding of the SAT’s complexities. Viv’s approach is far from one-size-fits-all; she tailored her tutoring to meet my son’s specific needs, identifying his strengths and areas for improvement with remarkable accuracy.

Beyond SAT preparation, Viv’s assistance in the college admissions process was invaluable. She possesses a unique ability to bring out a student’s voice and strengths in his essays, a skill that proved crucial in the competitive landscape of college applications. Her insights into essay writing not only helped my son craft compelling narratives but also gave him confidence in his own abilities.

Viv’s dedication to her students goes beyond academic instruction. She provides emotional and strategic support, offering encouragement and advice that resonates with young individuals at a critical juncture in their lives. Her impact on my son’s academic career and self-esteem is immeasurable.

For any parent considering a tutor for their child, I cannot recommend Viv Lynn highly enough. Her professionalism, expertise, and genuine care for her students’ success are qualities that make her stand out as a mentor and educator. Her work truly changes lives, and I am deeply grateful for the positive influence she has had on my son.

Leo’s Perspective ~

Dear Prospective Student/Parent

My name is Leo Schaub, and it is my privilege to recommend Viv Lynn to you. As a student under her guidance, I had the liberty of participating in nine sessions over a period of just under two weeks. In this short time frame, Mrs. Viv not only demonstrated an unparalleled commitment to my academic success but also showcased her outstanding ability to convey complicated and misleading concepts in a clear and engaging manner.

Mrs. Viv’s positivity, attentiveness, and diligence to her students were evident in every session. She created a support learning environment that fostered both confidence and enthusiasm for the material (Just wait until you play her jeopardy game!), and Mrs. Viv’s ability to adapt to my learning style was truly commendable.

What sets her apart from other tutors, along with the qualities already mentioned, is the exceptional communication skills and remarkable response time. Whether through Zoom calls or email correspondence, she consistently maintained a high level of professionalism and clarity.

I am delighted to share that under Mrs. Viv’s guidance, my SAT score experienced a substantial improvement, especially for how against the clock we were. I advanced from a mere 1350 to an impressive 1460. This significant progress is a testament to her expertise, dedication, and quality of her teaching methods.

As a result, it is my sincere pleasure to recommend Mrs. Viv Lynn to you. I am pleased and honored to have been one of her students, and you would be fortunate to have her as your tutor!

Wow. I cannot believe I graduate high school in a few short days. I also cannot believe that I am writing a farewell letter to you!

I have had the pleasure of knowing you for the past seven years of my life, you have taught my sister, brother, and myself. Your test prep classes have challenged me in ways I could never have imagined. But they are so, exceptionally valuable and I would not trade my experience in them for anything in the world. The skills and techniques I have learned from your benefit me abundantly and will continue to do for a very long time.

I  want to thank you from the bottom of my heart and I love you very dearly. I hope you have a fantastic summer!

Dear Mrs. Lynn,

To be frank, SATP was the class that worried me the most. And, after the first week of math, I was frightened out of my wits. All of the homework, all of the CHALLENGING homework… I did not know if I could handle it. Yet, your enthusiasm and drive encouraged me and inspired me to tackle every challenge with vigor. Every week, you would teach us lessons with such “like jaw-dropping” intelligence. Without a doubt, you have helped me grow tremendously with the SAT and have helped me become more confident when test day arrives because I know that your teaching has prepared me. Thank you so much for what you have given me: knowledge. I know that my SAT scores are higher because of you, and that the possibilities of my future expanded as well. You are a gift from God.

Love Sarah

“I always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers, because I hear about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all of the saints. Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you, brother, have refreshed the hearts of the saints.” Philemon 4-7

Dear Viv,

From time to time you come to my mind and I always thank God for the positive impact you had on Matthew’s life. When he took the first vocabulary class from you something changed in him. It all stemmed from your enthusiasm and encouragement. He took that class for many years and insisted on continuing when he was the oldest and only student in the uppermost level in your class. Furthermore, he thrived with the organizational skills which you taught (which he had struggled with at home for many years). While the oral presentation he prepared on being an NFL football player did not pan out, it set the stage for him to actually enjoy giving the best-man speech at his older brother’s wedding in 2019.

Since he graduated from high school in 2016, he went on to graduate from Texas State with a Pre-Physical Therapy degree in Exercise Science. He will be starting graduate school in August, entering the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene. He has been working as a physical therapy tech at Texas Orthopedics and has been granted a generous scholarship. He turns 26 in November and should graduate with a doctorate in December 2024. Upon graduation, he has a two year job commitment with Texas Orthopedics.

God has been so good to Matthew, and I just wanted you to know that we consider you one of God’s greatest blessings. As this school year ends and you launch even more kids out into the world, please know that they each carry a piece of you in their heart.

With much love,

Sheri Schultz

I just received my results today and I got 1530 raw so a 1580 super scored! I wanted to share the good news with you because it was thanks to your amazing teaching that I was able to improve so much (up from 730 @ 13yrs-old)

When I began my first class with you, I was not a very good student and had a lot to learn about how to learn. Nevertheless, you saw something in me, and believed in me, which was an incredible and powerful force on the direction of my life into high school. Your passion for growth and learning is, and was, infectious.

I accepted the challenge of the CATP course, and it helped prepare me for the world of adulthood more than anything else, because in both the adult world and standardized testing it was up to me to succeed.

This was supposed to be a thank you note about your card, but there is no way I could go to college in good conscience without thanking you for your impact on me.

Thank you for everything.

Dear Mrs. Lynn,

I just finished the REAL SAT test!!!!!! I remember how I felt about this test before I took your SAT Prep class. I was far from excited and extremely nervous to take something like the SAT or ACT test. However, thanks to your BRILLIANT teaching, thanks to your WONDERFULLY kind, understanding heart, thanks to your encouragement and inspiring attitude and passion for learning, thanks to you Mrs. Lynn, I woke up EXCITED and prepared to take the SAT test this morning! I knew exactly what I had to do and exactly how to do it. I don’t know how I did on the test, but I confidently think that I did better than I have on any of my practice tests. I’ve learned so much in your classes. I feel as though I have grown so much that I thank you Mrs. Lynn! Thank you for preparing me for the SAT test and thank you for making it seem like a fun and easy test to take. I felt bad for all of the students there that didn’t know the methods and techniques you have taught me. I’m certain I was the only one in the room repeating to myself ‘My Pet Parrot Makes Attempts To Laugh.’ XD I owe it all to you and the help that The Lord provided. Time to study for the ACT next Saturday!!! God bless

As an educator, I know when a student has been highly impacted by a teacher.  Our daughter not only speaks highly of you as a teacher, but as a woman of God.  It is so easy to get caught up in the day to day tasks that teaching requires and fail to leave a heart-print for the Lord.  The heart-print is so much more important than what can be learned from books.  From your encouraging words to the blessing box, you are making a difference.  Thank you for taking the privilege of teaching so seriously and making it your joy.  It comes through loud and clear on this side!  Smile.  Kassi loves going to your class because she loves you.  We are so blessed to have you in her life.

May the Lord bless you in every way as you help to mold the Lord’s youth.

Sincerely In Christ,

Your class has been a tremendous help to me, not only in preparing for the SAT, but also increasing my confidence, especially in math!

Today, I took the Compass test, which is the entrance exam for ACC, and because of what I have learned in your class, I did extremely well! In the test, I had to write an essay and complete a writing, reading, and math section. I used all the hints, tips, and strategies you gave me to figure out the questions and ended up getting a score of 7 (out of 8) for my essay, a 99 out of 100 for my writing, an 97 out of 100 for critical reading. As usual, math was my worst section, but I still scored high enough to take the college math class I was desiring to take. 😀

There were a TON of math functions (and you remember how I FREAK out when I see functions) but I did what you suggested and tried to keep my cool and I was actually able to answer them (and get them right :D) !!!! Thank you so much for all your support and patience throughout the year!!! You are the best teacher EVER!!! 😀 I will let you know how I do on the SAT on June 6th. God bless you! Have a great summer!!!

Mrs. Lynn,

You did such an amazing job getting my daughter  ready for the SAT when she was in 7th grade, three years ago! She was well prepared for the test, and her scores qualified her for Duke TIP Summer Studies. We are grateful for your expertise.

My younger daughter is now eligible to take the SAT in March as a 7th grader, and I hope you are available to help her prepare for the test. She remembers you, and would like to have you as her tutor.

I hope you are available for tutoring, and I look forward to hearing from you!

Thank you,

My son IS making progress on his Algebra 1 & 2 course and progressing on track to finish the Geometry before his next class starts.  Thank God for Viv!!! Truly, we are SOOOO grateful for her helping him.

Thankfully, Viv has been very thorough in catching many foundation cracks in Algebra 1 & 2!  Yikes.  She has methodically working through the curriculum with him and spiraling back for reinforcement. I am hoping we can now intensify her tutoring so that he at least finishes the whole Algebra 1 & 2 review by the time school starts again.

I say all this because Viv taught him about gate making errors …. he can tend to nod and say yes I got it….but unless he is demonstrating it, we are finding he doesn’t really understands what is really going on with the math.

Viv also really helped him identify PAD problems …. in which he says oh yeah I knew that…. so we can distinguish was it really a detail/speed issue or he is not really understanding.

Viv has been carefully watching his Geometry…and again thankfully, she has been guiding him through a better tool belt than before. So again, if this comes into play this fall, please let us know so we can get the extra math tutoring he could need as early as possible.

Really looking forward to having you teach him this fall — he is too!  He just wants to be in the regular swing of things.  I think after this spring/summer of intense math focus, the good news is this fall will feel a little easier hopefully.

Again, we appreciate your genuine desire to promote our son’s pursuit of continued education. As his mother, may I reiterate that my husband and I are blessed by your concern for not only his academic success but also his character. Your influential role as his CATP teacher has presently played a significant part in his personal and academic success; furthermore, we believe its impact will extend into his future and are deeply thankful!

Blessings,

Hallelujah!!!!

My son respects you so much & looks up to you. He told me privately about two weeks ago that when he did a faculty survey you were the only teacher he could truly give multiple tens to in different categories.

You are exemplary, a good & faithful servant, and I couldn’t have asked for a finer role model in my children’s lives!!

Bravo!!!!!!!! (if you don’t know… this is fantastic growth)

Ms Viv,
I just wanted to thank you for your encouragement and teaching on the essay for the SAT! We got our scores back yesterday and I was so excited to see that I improved from a 5-6-5 (the last time I took the SAT) to a 7-6-8! It was cool to see that the work we did and everything we learned with you really made a tangible difference, so thank you so much for your help!

Hi Mrs. Viv,

I got into A&M!

Thank for teaching me awesome SAT skills, how to read better, and how to plan my school time better. Without these things that you’ve taught me, I’m not sure I’d be where I am today. You were always going above and beyond to make sure that I understood what you were teaching, and I that I was getting the most out your crazy awesome methods.

I could go on and on and on and on about all the wonderful things you’ve done for me.. maybe I will write a book on you one day.. But today, I have to finish physics.. and review the materials!!

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for all you’ve done for me.

Hello Viv,

My husband and I appreciate your encouraging, hard work to influence our young people in more ways than just improving their study skills.  You have improved their self-esteem, given them dignity, believed in some of their hidden talents, and encouraged them to deepen their spiritual walk.

Thank you for helping my kids to plan their academic/career future while inspiring them to raise their Christian standards.  They especially liked the Doing Hard Things videos by Alex and Brett Harris that you showed them in class.

Thanks again for a great school year, Mrs Viv!  We are a better family because of you.

What is Moxy?

Usually the leader of the group has moxy. She has an insatiable curiosity, limitless confidence, and the unique ability to make others feel great about exactly who they are, but she’s also forever exploring for more. Ms. Viv has MOXY!

The Lord gave her a quest: to impassion students for the Lord, for learning and for life itself. She prays that others might see Christ in her, the Hope of Glory!

Her students are often in challenging situations and sometimes in dire need. She doesn’t offer a pseudo master class, nor does she  claim to be the one and only teacher capable of preparing students. She does continually seek to provide the right teaching techniques for students in need.

She offers Online courses and tutorials for those whose yearning for learning outweighs their adventure for city driving.

She offers Live classes with One Day Academy-North Austin for those that thrive best in a classroom setting.

She occasionally offers In-Person tutorials, especially for the young, or for those that need personal attention.

As a sidebar, Ms. Viv excels in facilitating excitement in academics. I implore you: don’t confuse the reported horrors faced were by so many classroom educators have found themselves thrust online and their vain attempts to translate  conventual training with Ms. Viv’s vibrant online education system and programs. She has surpassed such challenges, partially because of her years of tutorial experience, a dedicated studio, specific equipment as a document camera and our online LMS.

Ms. Viv’s online classes will always prioritize engaging students and remain goal oriented.
