We pray that your school year so far has been a wonderful experience and that your labors have been fruitful. We know that this is the time of year that you evaluate your children’s academic development and achievements in order to make needed adjustments to stay on track. We are here to help if your assessment leads you to believe that a course in Study Skills would help your children achieve their goals.

A Comparison of
SAT vs ACT
Standards of Excellence has once again decided to offer a Spring-Semester Study Skills course to help the home school community grow in academic excellence. The Study Skills course has been extremely well received by students and parents! We’ve seen a huge difference in the confidence of students when they realize what they can accomplish. The course will help students build their study skills inventory through lessons dedicated to equipping them for every academic and personal goal they have.
Many parents find that their children would benefit from growth in study skills –developing academic proficiency in learning to set goals, paraphrase, outline, take notes, increase memory, prioritize, study more effectively and take tests with confidence as well as much more.
We are happy to announce a Spring-Semester Study Skills course at two campuses:
- Lakeline (Tuesdays @ 10:30 – 12:20) and
- South (Friday @ 8:30 – 10:20) campuses.
We have attached a syllabus to show the richness of the course and the lessons covered during the spring semester. We believe we can still help you reach your children’s goals for academic growth and achievement.
Although this course has been compressed in duration, we are actually expanding it to include a broader student body, so we are pleased to consider it appropriate for 6th – 12th graders! A full description can be found online at www.txsoe.com . The monthly tuition ($55), Materials Fee ($40), and registration ($25) will be the same as the full-year course!
