Late homework, lower than expected grades, symptoms of test anxiety, and procrastination are common this time of year. No wait, they are common year long, but they become evident after reviewing the fall-semester grades. We desire to be a resource for you if your assessment leads you to believe that a course in Study Skills would help your child achieve their goals.
Standards of Excellence is excited to offer our popular Spring-Semester Study Skills
course yet again. This course has been extremely well received by students and parents. We have seen a huge difference in the confidence of students when they realize what they can accomplish. The course will build a student’s skills inventory through lessons designed to help them understand their learning style and create goals and take steps to achieve them. They’ll learn to manage their time constructively and retain more information from their studies. They’ll also learn effective note-taking skills, paraphrasing, outline techniques, study and test strategies.
We are happy to announce a Spring-Semester Study Skills course at Georgetown campus (starting January 11th on Wednesdays @ 1st period at 8:30 am – 10:20 am). Although this course has been compressed in duration, we are actually expanding it to include a broader student body. We are pleased to consider it appropriate for 6th – 12th graders! |
